Who says only men can
be gearheads?
Not me!

High Heels 'n' Hot
Wheels is about the
Ladies! True Car Show
Diva's...

and they do it with Diva
style!

Not all show their own
cars, most let their
spouse or partner take
the credit and collect
the trophies. But a well
seasoned Diva knows
more than enough
about her car to hold
her own  in any circle.

These are the ladies
who will be featured in
High Heels 'n'  Hot
Wheels!

Minda Matherne
of Bridge City, Texas

Jody Holton, of Port Arthur, Texas and 'Baby'!

Baby is a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne, white with turquoise
interior.  She has a 235 straight 6 Blue Flame with a 2 speed
power glide automatic transmission.   Original engine and
tranny.  'She isn't a trailer Queen or a show type car, I just
drive her for the fun of it.'

And by the way, Jody says power steering is for sissies!
Summer Penland just got her 2006 Stage 2 Roush Mustang
back from the shop...

and the modifications are outstanding!

Her 340 HP 'stang sits on 20 in. Victory Wheels and boast an Air
Ride Suspension by Marcustoms, Inc.,  front struts custom
made in California, Pypes Violator
exhaust and a Cool Air Intake.

Summer says, "It is the only air bagged Roush Mustang in Texas
as far as I know.  I know it's the only one in Houston or Austin and
I have not found anything in the Dallas area either.  I have been
doing my research.  In Cali they had to rent one to get the specs
right to make the parts for me because It's a very rare car to put
air suspension on.  I love it and am really happy with the way it
turned out."

This car has it's own myspace page!
The first shirt went
to Oklahoma!
The Car Show Diva (CSD) sent me to the 34th Mid-America Ford and Team Shelby
Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, June 11th to June 15th, to dig up some pics for her page.

The event included two days of playing on the road course at Hallet Raceway, one day of
playing on the drag strip at Tulsa Raceway Park, and finished with a car show on Sunday.

Well, I failed the CSD.  I didn’t make the car show.  I didn’t make the play days at the
road course.  But . . . I DID make it to the drags day.  The problem is I was so busy
playing with my old Galaxie that I didn’t get many pics.

It was a great day.  I grabbed my son and asked him to get up on a concrete divider and
look around.  I asked him what he saw.  He responded, “Dad, there are a LOT of cars here.”

Obviously his youth didn’t see the importance of what he was seeing.  I said, “Yes, J J,
there ARE a lot of cars here.  But, the important thing is that no matter where you look,
there isn’t a Chevy to be seen!!!”  Frankly, I’d call it Heaven.

And as long as we were in Heaven, where were the angels?  Well, there were a bunch of
them.  Most of them were driving store bought performance cars, like late model Mustang
GTs, a few GT500s, some Rousch Mustangs, etc.

What interested me were the angels that came to race, the few that came with slicks;
trans brakes; line-locks; and were talking about their reaction times.  My kinda angels.

Well, CSD, I failed you.  But, I did get a few pics of a couple of angels, CRDs.  That’s
Car Race Divas.

The first is Traci Langley from Claremore, OK.  She brought her 1963 Falcon Futura.
What a pretty little car.  She was in line next to me in the staging area.  I asked her if
I could shoot some pics of her and her Falcon.  While I was shooting she said, “Gotta go,
here comes Mom and my baby!”  Gotta love it.  She ended up running in the 16.00 bracket
and did a great job.

The second one is an angel that has been to the event the last few years.  Chareese Uto-
Brust, Joplin, Missouri, brought her ’76 Mustang II Mach 1.  It had a 5.0L stuffed in
that little engine compartment and she was running 14.24.  Pretty respectable, I’d say.
She surely was proud of this little modern day Rat Rod.  It ain’t pretty, it came to race.

I guess that’s all for now.  Maybe next year I can do a better job for the CSD.  Until
then, I will just relish in the fact that for one day I was in Heaven, that’s spelled FORD.
